A message from Mrs Southworth

Hello Year 2…or should I say’ Year 3’!!

I am so very much looking forward to teaching you in the next school year! Can you believe that you will be in KS2?

There will be some changes to get used to; a different classroom, a new corridor, a different teacher and teaching assistants and different times of doing things! But you will still be a ‘Russell’ pupil, with all the things that make you a ‘Russell’ pupil continuing! And I am very proud to be your new teacher and to see you through the next part of your school journey!

Although I know a little bit about you, there are so many things I don’t know…and these can be really important!

So, I have set you a task to do. I would like you to make a little booklet about yourself. Follow the link here to download the booklet.

Look out for the email and I hope you enjoy doing it!

Take care

Mrs Southworth

Welcome to the Year 2 blog, please check daily for new learning. Please do not worry if you do not cover all of the tasks set, just try to work through as much as you can throughout the day. Please try your best and remember to take pride in your work. If you feel particularly proud of something you have done ask a grown up to take a picture of your work and they can send it to us.

For those children who have decided not to attend school at this time, please follow the link for BBC Bitesize and complete the daily Maths, English and foundation Subject lessons on the days when your child’s group is in class.

What have you enjoyed doing? Write a letter of congratulations to yourself about all of the amazing things you have done over the year. Hide it away somewhere safe so that when you’re feeling fed up or sad you can look at your letter to remind yourself how amazing you are!
