The Russell School is a 'GOOD' school
Following the most recent inspection which took place in April, we are delighted to share with you that The Russell School has been graded as ‘GOOD’ in all areas of the inspection framework.
We are particularly pleased that the inspectors recognise our pupils ‘make good progress across the curriculum and leave the school well placed for a successful start at secondary school.’ The inspection team also praise the work that has taken place to enable pupils to ‘make informed choices about the level of challenge in their work’. ‘Pupils respond well to this and enjoy challenging themselves.’
The report also reflects our school as a ‘safe and nurturing environment in which pupils can flourish and succeed. As a result, pupils are friendly, thoughtful and respectful.’
Ofsted provide guidance on next steps for further improvement and these will be fed into future planning as we continue to drive further improvement.
The inspection team were very grateful for the comments made by parents and carers, both in person and through the online survey. The inspectors comment that:
‘The overwhelming majority of parents are positive about the school, recognising the enormous number of improvements introduced since the last inspection.’
On behalf of the staff and the governors, we add our thanks to those parents who took the time to share their views of the school with the inspection team. Your positive experiences and views contributed to their conclusions and will inform our future developments.
