Read our latest HMI report (June 2015) and inspection report (March 2015).
Our last full Ofsted inspection took place in March 2015 and was conducted against the rigorous Ofsted framework introduced in 2014. Our team were disappointed that the overall judgment on the school was changed from Grade 2 (good) to Grade 3 (requires improvement). This grading, however, reflects the performance of the school over a three year period since the previous inspection and takes into account a period of difficulty, during which standards fell.
During the inspection, Ofsted recognised the significant impact of the many improvements to teaching and learning which had been put in place since September 2014 and we were pleased that Ofsted recognised that our team has the capacity and determination to rapidly improve.
The commitment to reaching an outstanding standard of provision for our pupils is shared by all members of our staff team and we are determined to achieve this goal.
We received an HMI visit in June 2015, during which, the inspectors judged Senior leaders and Governors to be ‘taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement identified at the recent section 5 inspection’. The inspectors recognised the ‘significant improvements in pupil achievements throughout the school’ and commented on the significant improvements in all areas, including the quality of teaching and learning, pupils’ attitudes towards learning and marking and feedback.
