At The Russell School, the curriculum is enriched through a wide range off-site visits, residential visits, themed days, visitors and practical experiences and children consolidate their learning through opportunities to apply learnt skills across subject areas and in meaningful situations whenever possible.
The acquisition of an additional language (French) is developed throughout Key Stage 2 to enrich learning both culturally and linguistically.
Children also have wider opportunities to learn to play a variety of musical instruments, with lessons provided by peripatetic teachers from Hertfordshire Music Service.
The school has its own orchestra which meets on a Friday lunchtime, providing the children with experience of performing alongside other musicians.
Our pupils also enjoy showcasing their musical talents to the rest of the school community through regular concerts and take part in wider collaborations such as The Three Rivers Music Festival, held at St Clement Danes.
